Digital technologies have changed the landscape of many industries. However, the health sector has been more resistant to disruption due to regulation, reimbursement issues and data security and privacy concerns. Within biopharma, digital technologies have the potential to transform all aspects of the value chain, but comprehensive strategies to address and mitigate these challenges are required. This panel will address how technology is enabling a fundamental shift from a transactional mindset (selling a pill) to a patient-centric approach (meeting patient needs before, during and after treatment to deliver improved health outcomes). Panelists will also tackle what the entrance of large infotech companies in health means for biopharma business models, including whether these deep-pocketed new entrants represent collaborators or competitors.
