Think tanks, also known as policy research institutes, have a unique perspective on public policy. They are more directly engaged in the active policy debate than are purely academic institutions, yet they are non-partisan and focused on developing the best policies, regardless of party or special interests. Thus they are a source of independent and creative thinking and analysis, from which the biotech sector can benefit. This session will feature representatives of three leading think tanks from global markets that work in the areas of health care policy, regulation, economic development and intellectual property. The three speakers, guided by a moderator with extensive experience in the biomedical industry and policy communications, will look at major trends for biotech in international markets, and assess whether the general trend in policy is favorable or not for the sector.
