Agam Sheth is a Director in the Business Development and Licensing Group in Merck Research Laboratories. His responsibilities include search, evaluation, and transactions of new technologies in the fields of AI and ML, data science, microbiome, vaccines, and biologics. Dr. Sheth strives to do impactful deals that can enable the discovery and development of new medicines.
Prior to his role in business development, Dr. Sheth was a scientist in preclinical research where he worked on product development of numerous compounds in oncology, infectious disease, and neuroscience.
A fourteen year employee of Merck, Dr. Sheth is the author of several peer-reviewed publications and has presented at several national and international scientific meetings. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and held elected office at the American Pharmaceutical Association from 2002–2003.
He is a recipient of the 2005 APhA Ebert Prize and the 2002 Walter F. Enz Research Award and is a member of the Rho Chi Honor Society.
Dr. Sheth obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota where his dissertation involved studies in organic solid-state chemistry, particularly the structure-property relationships of pharmaceutical crystals.
