Bio
Laura Deming is the founder and full-time partner at The Longevity Fund, an early stage venture capital fund backing companies which target the aging process to treat disease, with investments in gene editing, small molecule therapeutics, and novel methods to treat disease. From a young age, Ms. Deming has been fascinated by the idea that longevity is a mechanism able to be manipulated. After years working on nematode longevity at the University of California, San Francisco in the lab of Dr. Cynthia Kenyon, molecular biologist known for her research on aging, Laura matriculated at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at age 14. At MIT she worked on artificial organogenesis and bone aging. She is now based in San Francisco, working to find and fund therapies to extend the human healthspan.
