Sebastian Engels practices as an Attorney-at-Law (Rechtsanwalt) for Boehmert & Boehmert since 2011. He advises clients in all aspects of trademark, copyright, design and unfair competition law. As a special focus of his expertise he is further advising German and international clients with regard to IT law, consumer protection regulations and data protection law. Sebastian represents clients in all types of intellectual property disputes, including trade mark, trade dress, copyright, patent and unfair competition matters.
Sebastian studied law at the University of Constance (Germany) and the University of Cork (Ireland), specializing in competition law and intellectual property. His doctoral thesis focused on the admissibility of territorial IP licensing within the European Single Market. Sebastian Engels is a co-author of the Fromm/Nordemann Commentary on Copyright Law (12th edition, 2018) and has been a lecturer for Licensing and Technology Transfers as part of the Master’s program BioMedTech at the University of Potsdam since 2017.
