Thomas Zioncheck, Ph.D. is Global Head of Neuroscience, Ophthalmology, and Research Tools and Technologies, Business Development, Genentech Partnering. He leads the group responsible for sourcing, technical evaluation and negotiating licensing agreements to access new therapies and technologies in the areas of neuroscience, ophthalmology and metabolic disease, as well as research tools and technologies.
He joined Genentech as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 1988. He then was employed as a Genentech Scientist and subsequently promoted into roles of increasing responsibility including Senior Scientist and Project Team Leader. He has made numerous drug development contributions, co-authored 30 scientific papers, and is co-inventor of 6 patents.
Tom has served as Chair for the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Biotech Section and is currently an Adjunct Professor in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, University of the Pacific.
Tom received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Purdue University and graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Oneonta.
